The Girona Golf course was designed by the prestigious architect FG Hawtree, who called it ‘one of my best creations’. The hilly terrain of the area makes Girona a beautiful course, but at times a difficult one to play due to its sloping lies. Further challenge is provided by trees, ravines, and tight doglegs – three holes also feature water hazards.
The quality of this design is complemented by careful maintenance: it is the only course in Spain sown entirely with Penncross, the highest quality grass for golf. The design of Girona golf club is perfectly adapted to the lie of the land, resulting in a course that is suitable for golfers of all levels.
