In the heart of the Côte d'Azur, the Opio Valbonne Golf Course has the advantage of an exceptional climate and ideal geographic surroundings, sheltered from the winds. Golfers are provided with unique scenery of sea and mountains, where the Alps interlace with the rivers of the Mediterranean.
In a magnificent, undulating natural park of 220 hectares, the design of the course marries perfectly the rich vegetation and the different variety of trees. It is a course which has attracted the most demanding of European Golfers, who are always in search of originality and relaxation.
The Opio Valbonne Golf Club is one of the oldest in the region and was designed in 1966 by Donald Harradine. Major work was undertaken in 2002, guided by the architect Robert Berthet.
A number of greens have been completely re-designed and significant modifications have been made to holes number 10, 11 and 14. The first nine holes require skilful mastering of the approaches and the irons. The last nine holes at Opio Valbonne Golf Course require long and accurate drives.
