Event details
The España Golf and Bradford Chamber Golf Day is a 4 man team event and will be contested on a ¾ Handicap, Stableford basis to be played from yellow tees. 2 (from 4) scores will count on each hole.
To spice up the event, there will be the following exception:
Mystery Bonus Holes
Please record all 4 of your team’s scores on each
par 3. At the start of the evening presentation dinner,
two holes will be randomly drawn from a hat to decide
the two mystery Par 3 holes where all 4 scores
will count.!
These scores will then be added to your team total,
to give the winning event total.
Nearest the pin
There will be a prize for the nearest ball to the pin on holes 8 and 16.
Longest drive
There will be a prize for the longest drive (on the short stuff!) on holes 3 and 11.
Hole in one
There is the amazing prize of a BRAND NEW CAR (kindly provided by our main sponsor to be unveiled soon) available to anyone lucky (sorry skilful) enough to make an ace on the 13th hole.
Each player plays against the par of each hole and receives points according to how they score in relation to par. The scoring system is as follows:
| 2 or more over par | 0 points |
| 1 over par | 1 point |
| Par | 2 points |
| 1 under par | 3 points |
| 2 under par | 4 points |
| 3 under par | 5 points |
| And so on.. | |
¾ Handicap allowance (maximum of 18 Shots received by any one player)
The nett score is calculated by taking strokes at the appropriate hole using the stroke index shown on the card.
The two best scores of each team per hole shall be added together to give one total
i.e. 1st player scores a net birdie = 3 points. 2nd player scores a gross par = 2 points. The total to be marked on card = 5 points.
IMPORTANT. If a player has played too many strokes at any one hole and he will not score, then he shall pick his ball. This will keep all games (and a busy day) running smoothly.
At end of the round, cards shall be added up, signed by the captain of the team and handed to the competition co-ordinator.
THE RULES OF PLAY
GENERAL POINTS
Before commencing your round:
(1) Read the Local Rules on the score card.
(2) Put an identification mark on your ball. Many golfers play the same brand of ball and if you can't identify your ball, it's lost.
(3) Count your clubs. You are allowed a maximum of 14 clubs.
During the round, don't ask for "advice" from anyone except your partner or caddie. Don't give advice to anyone except your partner.
During a hole you may not play a practice stroke.
ETIQUETTE
Etiquette covers both Courtesy and Priority on the Course as well as Care of the Course. Whilst the following points are not Rules as such, they are an important part of the game.
(1) Don't move, talk or stand close to a player making a stroke.
(2) Don't play until the group in front is out of the way.
(3) Always play without delay. Leave the putting green as soon as all players in your group have holed out.
(4) Invite faster groups to play through.
(5) Replace divots. Smooth footprints in bunkers.
(6) Don't step on the line of another player's putt.
(7) Don't drop clubs on the putting green.
(8) Replace the flagstick carefully. A good score may be spoiled, or a match lost, due to a penalty incurred through ignorance or confusion concerning the Rules. A sound knowledge of the above summary should aid the golfer in tackling a "Rules problem". Nevertheless, the complete Rules of Golf as approved by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews and the United States Golf Association, should be consulted where any doubt arises. This event is to be played under the Golf Rules from USGA and The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, Scotland and the local rules of the Marriott, Hollins Hall. MOST OF ALL; ENJOY THE EVENT AND HAVE FUN! CALL TODAY TO BOOK YOUR TEAM'S PLACE ON
Learning and playing by the Rules of Golf is very important. Golf is a game where you are expected to play by the rules and it is each player's responsibility to follow the rules.
